WAYNESBORO, PA. - Big trouble is set to once again grace the ring of Voltage Wrestling, and this time, things could get a lot more savage when Voltage makes its Pennsylvania debut November 13 in Waynesboro at the Rouzerville Community Center. And with it comes a card shaping up to be absolutely epic. As first announced this past weekend on the Wrestling Supercharged Podcast, the man standing at 6’12’ and weighing in at 15% of a metric ton Ben Bishop will step into the squared circle with The Savage Gentleman and leader of the Peanut Butter Platoon himself, Victor Benjamin in a matchup sure to shake the landscape in the ever raging battle for the Voltage Grand Championship. It’s a rivalry that predates Voltage’s Shocking Debut back in June, with the back and forth chirping between the two top-tier independent talents on Twitter setting the stage for their eventual confrontation in the Grand Championship Tournament. Bishop and Benjamin each won their initial tournament bout, but ultimately fell short to Sicend’s eventual coronation, and neither man has been seen in the Voltage ring since. That’s all set to change come November 13. But where these men have come may dictate the coming outcome of their one on one matchup, and the national notoriety both men are bringing to the Voltage stage is sure to elevate this contest even further. The self-proclaimed Earth quakin’, pillar shakin’, leader of the meatpop express Ben Bishop has seen a massive upswing of career momentum in the last year alone. Having found a manager in Barstool Sports personality Brandon Walker, Bishop has made an appearance on AEW Dark this past summer, and his stock continues to rise. He’s also about to face the most technically sound opponent of his career. No stranger to the spotlight himself, Victor Benjamin stands with championship credentials himself as the reigning and defending Butterfinger World Champion, having successfully retained the title against AEW’s own Murderhawk Monster Lance Archer back in September. Benjamin also wrestled at GCW’s Bloodsport this past April, displaying not only his in-ring technical abilities, but also his background in MMA. With just a few short weeks left before their confrontation, it’s anyone’s guess who will emerge victorious. One thing is for certain - the outcome of this match is sure to have massive implications in the Voltage Grand Championship title picture. Will the big man prove too much trouble? Or will the Leader of the Peanut Butter Platoon prove too savage to tame? We’ll find out November 13 in Waynesboro, PA at the Rouzerville Community Center, bell time set for 8 PM. Also in action that night will be former IMPACT! Star James Storm, Lucha Underground superstar Cortez Castro, current Voltage Grand Champion Sicend, and many more still to be announced. Hey everyone,
My name is Mike Noland and I am one of the driving forces behind Voltage Wrestling. I wanted to reach out to provide an unfortunate update regarding tomorrow's event. As many of you may know, this was scheduled to be an outdoor event. Earlier in the week we saw that there may be a possibility of thunderstorms in the area. At that time, there was only a 24% chance of rain in the forecast. Within the last 24 hours, that has changed. As of now, we’re expecting on and off severe thunderstorms throughout the afternoon. With the safety of our ring crew, our performers and our fans in mind, we are postponing tomorrows event to August 28th. For anyone who has already bought tickets, we’ll be giving you multiple exchange options to make things right for YOU, the customer. Option 1: You can keep your ticket for this event and use it on the August 28th make up date. Option 2: You can exchange your tickets for our September 18th event : Great Vengeance & Furious Anger. We will exchange your ticket for the exact seating tier you purchased for July 17th. PLUS, you will receive a special piece of Voltage Wrestling merch as a token of our gratitude for your business. Option 3: Between Monday July 19th and Wednesday July 21st, if you reach out to us stating that neither date will work for you, we will provide you with a full refund. I want to establish the utmost respect and honesty with you, the fans first and foremost. You all have given us overwhelming support over the last few months, and we want to continue to do right by you the same way you have done for us. Thank you for your continued support and we look forward to seeing you in August. Mike Noland Voltage Wrestling The Gratification and Gravitas of Championship - A Cory Bush Highlight Written by Kyle T. Raios Championships. Ask almost any athlete in any sport: What is the ultimate goal? Championships. And Cory Bush is no stranger to championships. Is it drive? Or is it obsession? It’s a fair question. What possesses a human being to step between those ropes into what many consider hallowed ground? For some - for many - it’s the pursuit of fame and fortune. For others, it’s the simple gratification of entertaining the masses. For the “Weight of the World” Cory Bush - when the seeming simplicity of mass is your weapon, and gravity the force chosen to wield it, it’s simply the gravitas of destiny. Accolades lead to more accolades, and titles tend to breed titles. And all up and down the I-81 corridor, Bush has collected both like a child collecting baseball cards. With nine heavyweight championships and numerous tag titles wrapped around his waist over the course of the last decade, residing at the top of the mountain might seem almost as natural as breathing. But the ascension hasn’t been easy, and as Bush himself describes it, it’s been anything but straightforward. “The Weight of the World was born from the thought that I was seen as less than just because I wasn’t your classic, six-pack beach body type of wrestler. So I took the part of myself that was seen as less than and I turned it into a weapon,” Bush answered in an exclusive interview. “People can scoff and make fun, but what they can’t do is deny the power of my weapon. The Power of the Weight of the World.” “And that power has repeatedly made me champion.’ On June 5 in Martinsburg, West Virginia, Bush attempted to collect on yet another title in the main event of Voltage Wrestling - Shocking Debut, aiming to be the inaugural Voltage Grand Champion. Call it destiny, call it fate, call it whatever you’d like - the night played out differently, as the Kingpin of Riot City Sicend outlasted Bush and two others - “Big Trouble” Ben Bishop and “The Savage Gentleman” Victor Benjamin - to claim the title. “At Voltage, this was my chance to etch my name as the first champion in the company’s history. To be number 1 for a lifetime,” Bush said. “That opportunity was taken from me.” The perception of Sicend’s stolen valor was enough to force Bush - once again - into an impromptu run-in on the Saturday morning “Rolls Royce of Wrestling Podcasts,” The Podcast Pit, where he had more than a few choice words for the champion. Hosts Mike Ratick and Rennes Carbaugh had been discussing who would challenge Sicend for the title first, with Big Ben Bishop being the foregone conclusion. A conclusion Bush took personally. “Sicend you got lucky. And did anybody else in that match, by the way, get hit by the other three members in synchronization to eliminate them? No they didn’t,” Bush said in front of the speechless hosts. “It took Victor’s foot, Ben’s boot, and then Sicend flying from somewhere.” Like clockwork, Bush issued the challenge for Sicend, staring down the camera and seemingly demanding a shot at the Voltage Grand Championship on July 17 at Bad Habits Bar & Grill in Martinsburg, West Virginia. “You’re not as good as you think you are. You got lucky at that show. And on July 17, if you’ve got the balls to answer my challenge, I’m gonna hit ya with the Weight of the World splash.” Is it drive? Or is it obsession? It’s fair question. For Cory Bush, it’s neither. “It’s just a vehicle of fate. If there is a championship on my stretch of highway it is only a matter of time before it’s in my clutches. I don’t say that I’m a force of nature just to gratify myself. I’m the Weight of the World and my power is gravity. The gravitational pull to drag championships into my orbit.” The challenge has been issued, the gauntlet thrown. Will Voltage Grand Champion Sicend answer the call? And how will The Kingpin of Riot City respond to the first challenge to his new title reign? Stay tuned in the days to come as we await the response, and further announcements for Voltage Wrestling’s next event, which is sure to only up the amperage from here. 6/5 #TheShockingDebut - Results6/7/2021 MARTINSBURG, WEST VIRGINIA - The day has come, and the day has gone, but expectations were high and subsequently met Saturday night, June 5 at O’Connell’s Irish Pub. Despite the heat and the onslaught of cicadas, a capacity crowd witnessed history with the first ever tournament to crown the inaugural Voltage Grand Champion, and special guest appearance by former ECW/WWE superstar and one half of the current Impact Tag Champions Rhino.
The eight man tournament kicked off the night with four hard fought, grueling matches that whittled the championship tournament down to four contenders. Local favorite and veteran Sicend took down Myles Millenium in the opener, followed by “Big Trouble” Ben Bishop taking out Jason Radatz. “Weight of the World” Cory Bush took down longtime rival Brandon Scott, while “The Savage Gentleman” Victor Benjamin defeated Madd Max Morrison to grab that fourth and final spot in the tournament final. Captain D Decapitate made a brief appearance, interrupting the night with laments of not having a spot on the card, but promising to be there for the Voltage Wrestling return at O’Connell’s pub on September 18 - and declaring he wouldn’t be coming alone. Professor Jakob Edwin continued his ongoing search for a tag partner, which ultimately led to vying candidates Jeremy Grimes and Darius Carter being jumped by Jordan Evans and Eric Ecton. Not one to let injustice stand, Rhino made his long awaited appearance and cleared the ring, before asking Voltage Commissioner Mike Ratick to even the odds and sanction the six-man tag match. Rhino soon did what he does best, and gored his way to victory, much to the delight of everyone in attendance. Our main event saw a four way elimination, no disqualification showdown between all first round winners. The action spilled out into the crowd before it ever got in the ring, with Bush being the early target of the other three. Sicend brought his brand of high-flying, hardcore action with a moonsault off the bar patio that cleared the way and literally leveled the field. The chaos managed to work its way back to the ring, and Bush was quickly eliminated by a series of devastating hits from the other three combatants. Not long after, Benjamin was defeated leaving The Kingpin of Riot City and Big Trouble as the last men standing. In a tale as old as time but too often forgotten, the giant was taken out by a surprise roll-up that ended in a three count, and the crowd roared hard as Sicend was crowned the first ever Voltage Grand Champion. It was a night of shock and awe - hallmarks of the Voltage Wrestling brand - making a definitive mark on the local landscape. Voltage has arrived - and it’s a whole ‘nother league. Come June 5 at O’Connells Irish Pub in Martinsburg, West Virginia, the matchup Cory “Weight of the World” Bush v. Brandon “Mr. X-Cellence” Scott may very well be the defining battle in the opening round of the tournament to crown the FIRST EVER Voltage Wrestling Grand Champion. The Tri-State has a reputation for breeding formidable competitors, and these two combatants are no exception. Hagerstown borne, Hagerstown bred, Cory and Brandon are both products of the 1-81 corridor wrestling scene. And while Brandon left the area in the pursuit of accolades elsewhere, Cory remained to dominate the scene, winning every championship there was to win on home turf. But a new one has been forged, fresh and without a bearer. And for men of this athletic caliber, glory is the goal - wherever it may be found. And a recent - and surprise - appearance on The Podcast Pit by Cory Bush drove the point home. For him, it’s not about the past, but what comes next. “When I want championships, I come in, I find the guy who has them and I take them. And my track records says that's not a lie,” he told hosts Mike Ratick and Rennes Carbaugh. “The letters don’t matter, the marquee does. And the marquee more times than that not has said Cory Bush versus the champion and the champion loses.” Ratick did challenge that Brandon Scott has the speed and technical prowess to withstand the power of the heavyweight. But as Cory retorted, “everybody has a plan until they get hit.” “Doesn’t matter how many times you can jump, roll, flip, or dive. When you get hit with the weight of world, your skill set means nothing because you don’t have enough air in your lungs to keep fighting.” With just under a month to go, the Voltage Grand Championship Tournament is shaping up to be a clash of light and heavyweights alike. But in this SHOCKING DEBUT of Voltage Wrestling, anything can happen. The countdown is nearing its conclusion. Will Brandon Scott respond to Cory, and what choice words will Mr. X-Cellence have for the Weight of the World? And you can be absolutely positive that as June 5 approaches, we’ll be hearing from the remaining participants in this Grand Tournament to crown the FIRST EVER Voltage Wrestling Grand Champion.
